The Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellows gives an opportunity for students and recent graduates to develop their journalism skills in writing and multimedia, analytical thinking and creativity, increase awareness of different global perspectives, broaden horizons and many more.

Through independent journalism projects that cover a variety of issues, the fellows have the opportunity to visit different parts of the world to report on current important topics of global importance — with an emphasis on issues that have gone under-reported in the mainstream American media, according to their website. Climate change, migration and refugees, global health, race and identity, and human rights are some of the topics that have been covered before.

The application process for the fellowship isn’t simple. Each Campus Consortium partner — colleges and universities — has a separate application process and may have additional application requirements that go beyond the application form on the Pulitzer Center website

Applicants should consult with their campus to be aware of deadlines, the amount of the fellowship offered, the application process, and whether there are additional requirements.

Those interested in this opportunity can be journalism students or not. The fellowship is open to applicants from liberal arts colleges, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, state universities, community colleges and many more.

Articles, photo essays, video, audio, and interactives produced by Reporting Fellows are featured on the Pulitzer Center website and in multiple national news outlets.

If you want to benefit from the Pulitzer Center mentorship, networking opportunities, and journalism resources, take a look at their website. For more information on how to apply, students can email [email protected]
