"We will not let them divide us"

In an exclusive conversation with Al Día News, Mayoral candidate Hon. Cherrelle Parker (Dem) for Philadelphia government met with Founder CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Hernán Guaracao in a 43-minute interview.

The main topics were the life of the Democrat and how she spent her childhood and adolescence. In addition, the articulation between different social actors in Philly society and the multiculturalism of the city. But also what she could achieve if she wins the elections in November.

With uncommon energy, the Democrat answered Guaracao's questions one by one and repeatedly made it clear that she "will not let them divide us" and that she can build "one Philly in one united city".

¿What are Parker's plans for Philly?

First and foremost, she advocates addressing the city's homelessness rate, as well as focusing on education issues. But one of her most important points is to make Philadelphia a "safer, cleaner and greener" city.

The candidate does not forget in her speech that technology plays a fundamental role in our times, although she does not discuss it in detail.

Asked how she would like to be remembered after her tenure, Parker said she would like to be remembered for giving citizens a path of "self-sufficiency", "no homelessness", and getting them off drugs.

“I always remember who I am”

Parker's journey seems to have been long and hard. Today, the Democrat insists on always remembering "who she is" and "where she came from". With a smile on her face, she encourages others to believe that they can achieve anything they want.

Cherelle Parker, black and woman, who seems to enjoy the interview with Guaracao, raised by her grandparents and who, at 51, dyes her hair, says she has the solutions citizens need. She says she has a diverse team that allows her to understand the problems faced by the Latino and black communities.
